My co workers are nice and I love the environment I work in. Pros Hours, summer break. Cons pay. Elementary teachers are overworked with the standards, content, and teaching materials changing every year for the different subjects they plan, prep, teach, and grade for each day.
The only discipline plan you can make for your elementary students is a dojo app that the kids can only hear a ding for if they are praised. When I used a colored clip chart in another county for my class, my students could easily follow that daily and see where they were at all day. Pros Furniture and technology provided for your class.
Clarksville-montgomery county school system employee reviews
I lost money working here. I would always take jobs that were at schools within a 20min drive of me.
However I was constantly being hounded to taken jobs further away and was told if I didn't there would be repercussions. When I took jobs further away I would lose money because I was not paid enough to cover the gas, much less anything else.
If you want to work with kids and don't need to pay bills then this might be for you. If you need to be able to afford to live don't work here. And this is only one issue. I don't even have room to explain the others. Pros They will hire anyone. Cons Pay, work-life balance, safety, Some from central office treat you as less than human. Loved it! Clarksville Montgomery county is a great school district to work for! I felt really supported within the district and enjoyed the administration as well as my colleagues.

Loved that the district was organized and had clear expectations; support in resources were nice for a first year teacher and enjoyed that my school paid for subs for you to do unit planning. Pros Support. Cons School day starts later than most. Very good working environment and peers are very supportive and willing to help success.

The administration does everything possible for the teachers and children. The school system is a great place to work. You will have opportunities to apply for different jobs.
You off on weekends and holidays. The hours are good the pay is good or ok depends on what position you are in. The insurance can be pricey that also depends on what hours you work or position your in. CMCSS has a supportive working environment. Offers competitive salary and benefits for salaried employees. Nonsalaried employees are underpaid, but treated fairly. Do your best work everyday in everything you do. Pros Collaboration with Colleagues. Cons Isolation of Location.

This is for someone that is retired or military. There is no way you can make a living off this job. I told them that my second job pays my bills.
CMCSS is overall a good place to work. Custodial work in Clarksville is not paid very well unfortunately. They cannot hang onto good people because of that. Always short staff. I guess at the district level they can't figure that out, or they just don't care.
Good people in the schools though. Productive and diversed workplace. Great place to work! There is always a room for improvement as they provide training for employees to better enhance your knowledge and capabilities to be successful in your job description. Pros flexibility. Cons short breaks, no benefits for Substitute Teachers. Education was valued.
Use of technology is emphasized. My manager was supportive and fought to get the resources the teachers needed to be successful.
Great place to work especially if you have children. The schedule is very flexible.

Options to work more hours benefits and health and life insurance are available. I Enjoyed working there. Many good people. Good trainers. School supervision does not often the driver when issues with students arise. Hectic radio traffic. I never called in, but many drivers do call in and take too much time off. Pros Good pay for the work. Cons Split shift Not year round employment, no unemployment pay over summer.
I go there before am and get a handle on what the teach has left for me to teach. I learn a lot about kids today and it motivates me to teach more conflict resolution and problem solving skills. The hardest part of the job is encouraging students to listen. I find this job challenging.
